How does GIIS Preschool Prepare Young Learners for Primary Success

GIIS Preschool prepares young learners for primary success through two preschool programmes – IB Early Years within the IB PYP and Global Montessori Plus (GMP) programme for ages 3-6 years. Both the programmes are designed to nurture confident, curious and independent learners – laying a strong foundation for a smooth transition to primary school. 

Through the IB PYP Early Years, we adopt a play-based approach where hands-on learning fosters early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth. It encourages children to express, ask questions, and solve problems. Children learn through interconnected themes that promote critical thinking and real-world understanding. 

GMP blends the renowned Montessori method with best modern practices to support all-round development in children. The curriculum is structured around five pillars — Excelerate Programme, Multi-Faceted Learning, iPlay Programme, iCare Programme, and Future Ready Programme — ensuring language skills, experiential learning, play-based education, and community values.

GIIS Primary: Building Strong Foundations for Secondary School 

At GIIS, the IB PYP for primary age groups (Grades 1 to 5) is delivered in a dynamic, student-centric environment where students take ownership of their learning and develop essential skills for lifelong success. The inquiry-driven programme emphasises the development of the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally — through a balance of academic rigour, creativity, and international-mindedness.

Empowering Secondary Learners Through the Cambridge Advantage

At GIIS, the Cambridge curriculum provides a strong academic foundation for students aged 11 to 16 (Grades 6-10). The programme emphasises core subjects like English, Maths, and Sciences, while offering choices in Second Language offerings. It encourages analytical thinking, independent learning, and effective communication. Our Cambridge trained educators guide students throughout their academic journey with regular assessments. 



GIIS supports holistic development across grades through more than 30 extracurricular and co-curricular activities – including expert sports coaching in popular sports at no additional cost – and numerous leadership opportunities through clubs and competitions.

GIIS also offers the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for students in Grade 1-12.
